HRSTON (Croatian Dental Terminology) is a project of the University of Zagreb School of Dental Medicine, funded by the National Foundation for Science, Higher Education and Technological Development of the Republic of Croatia (NZZ).

This project has a two-pronged aim: firstly, building of Croatian dental terminology and secondly, Croatian dental terminology usage popularization between students of dentistry, dentists and scientists.

The project supports the strategic values of The National Foundation for Science, Higher Education and Technological Development of the Republic of Croatia, and fits into two basic areas of National Strategy for Science Development (development of information technology and socio-cultural transition from an industrial society to a knowledge-based society).

In order to fulfill the aims, a project website is established, a dental terminology manual will be made, and workshops will be organized. Also, a data base will be developed where well-defined Croatian dental terminology and its equivalents in English and German will be input according to uniform principles. Experts from all fields of dentistry, biomedicine and linguistics will be involved in the project. Formed that way, the project will enhance Croatian professional terminology and Croatian language in general, increase competitiveness of Croatian scientists on the international level, and facilitate the involvement of Croatian scientists, dentists and dental students in European projects.
